Android Troubleshooting

The following are recommended solutions to possible problems that may happen when trying to pair the dash cam with your Android device.

 

Step 1  - Connect to power

Please make sure your dash cam is connected to a power source and that it’s receiving power. Make sure that both green & blue lights are visible. Important note: If the WiFi indicator (the blue light) is not flashing, double tap the power button on the bottom of the camera to turn on the WiFi connection.

Make sure that WiFi is enabled in your Android device.

 

Step 3 - Check WiFi Connection

Make sure that your phone is not connected to the dash cam’s WiFi:

 

 

  1. Open your phone’s Settings (Not the app’s)
  2. Tap 'Connections'
  3. Tap 'WiFi'
  4. If you are connected to 'DIRECT-Nexar(5G)-xxxxxx', tap ‘Forget’

If you’re not connected - continue to the next step

 

Step 4 - Verify Pairing

  1. Open the Nexar App > Tap the‘More‘ button > Tap ‘Settings’ > Tap 'External Camera’ > Follow the Pairing Flow (If you are already paired, simply proceed to the next step )
  2. Click on the ‘Drive‘ button on the bottom bar
  3. If you are seeing the live feed of your dash cam, your problem has been resolved.
  4. If you still see the live feed of your phone’s camera, please proceed to the next troubleshooting step.

Step 5 - Troubleshooting

Please try the following troubleshooting steps:  

  1. Open the Nexar App > Tap the ‘More‘ button> Tap ‘Settings’ > Tap ‘External Camera’ > If you see a spinning circle, please wait up to 30 seconds.
  2. If your status is already “Connected”, you’re good to go! Click on the ‘Drive‘ button on the bottom bar
  3. If your status is “Disconnected”, please tap that and wait up to an extra 30 seconds, if your status is now connected click on the ‘Drive‘ button on the bottom bar
  4. Wait 20 seconds. You should now see the live feed from your dash cam.

Still having trouble? Proceed to the following steps:

  1. Reset the dash cam by quickly pressing the Power button 9 times, followed by 1 more fast click for confirmation.
  2. Open your phone’s Settings and  tap on 'Apps'. Search for Nexar and tap on 'Force Stop'. When the confirmation message appears, tap 'Ok'/'Yes'/'Force Stop'.
  3. Open the Nexar App > Tap the ‘More‘ button  > Tap ‘Settings’ > Tap 'External Camera’ > Follow the Pairing Flow (If you are already paired, simply proceed to the next step)
  4. Click on the ‘Drive‘ button on the bottom bar
  5. If you are seeing the live feed of your dash cam, your problem has been resolved.
