Resetting your dash cam

If you're having trouble connecting to the dash cam, a reset may help get things back in order.

Nexar Light, Pro, Beam, NEXC2

  1. Connect the dash cam to a power source.
  2. Press the Power button on the dash cam 9 times. You should hear a clicking sound whenever you press the button.
  3. Wait for the voice prompt to instruct it, and press the Power button again.
  4. You will hear a voice prompt that says “The factory settings have been restored”.
  5. The dash cam will reboot after a successful reset.

 

NEXC1

  1. Connect the dash cam to a power source
  2. Press and hold the Power button on the dash cam for 15-20 seconds or until it turns off
  3. Wait until the dash cam turns back on
  4. After the reboot, the red button should be flashing. If the light is solid red, press the Power button once quickly.

 

NEXS1

  1. Connect the dash cam to a power source
  2. Press the Sync button on the dash cam 9 times
  3. Once the prompt voice instruct you to, press the Sync button again
  4. You will hear a voice prompt that says “The factory settings have been restored”
  5. The dash cam will reboot after a successful reset
  6. After the reboot, the red button should be flashing. If the light is solid red, press the Power button once quickly.

 

Nexar One

Reset all settings

Use this if: The video quality output is poor and you want to restore the recording and streaming settings.

What will happen: This will restore the video quality to 1080p for succeeding drive recordings. Audio settings will be unmuted. All the videos you saved in the app and cloud will not be deleted.

 

How to reset all settings:

  1. Connect the dash cam to a power source.
  2. Turn on your phone’s WiFi and Bluetooth settings.
    1. For Android, Location settings must be enabled.
  3. Connect your phone to the Nexar One dash cam.
  4. On the Nexar app, go to More > Dash cam > Reset dash cam
  5. Under Reset all settings, click the Reset button.
  6. Click on Reset settings to confirm this action.

After the reset, enable your phone’s cellular data and go to More > Dash cam > Update firmware. Stay connected to the dash cam until the update is finished.

Erase all videos and settings

Use this if: You want to wipe out the dash cam’s memory entirely so someone else can use it without risk of giving them access to your videos and information.

What will happen: This will permanently delete all the videos that were saved to the dash cam, restore the settings back to its default state, and remove all updates that were previously installed.

  1. Connect the dash cam to a power source.
  2. Press the Power button on the dash cam 10 times.

This reset option will permanently and completely remove any changes to the settings as well as all videos and information that were saved in the dash cam. This also removes access for all the users who were invited to use this dash cam.
